By subjecting excess Dutch pig manure to bio-digestion we create an organic fertilizer containing essential phosphates needed by farmers in other countries. The process also yields biogas, which we upgrade and add to our renewable gas production.
Our facility consists of three plants: one for creating renewable energy from organic food waste; a second for converting discarded animal fats into biofuels; and a third for producing organic, phosphate-based fertilizer and renewable gas from pig manure. We also recycle our own waste water. Ecoson produces no side streams, using all the residuals we handle to create new value either for the energy or the agricultural market.
